Aniplex Inc.1977年に誕生し、1980年には劇場版としてアニメ化もされた、竹宮惠子が描く伝説的SFコミック「地球へ…」。原作の中で描かれている環境破壊や、コンピューターに依存した管理体制社会は、今や切実さを増し、現実のものとして我々の目の前に存在する。そんな世界で今を生きる若者たちに問う、「正義」とは何か、そして「希望」とは何か——。当時、１つの大きな時代を創った本作が、2007年4月、30年の時を経て全く新たにアニメ化され、TVシリーズとして放送決定。
