Since 1997, we have worked with school districts, colleges of education and state departments of education to enhance their capacity to recruit, select, and train outstanding new teachers. Our clients, past and present, include school districts in New York City; Washington DC; Los Angeles; Atlanta; Kansas City, as well as Mercy College in New York and the Arkansas State Department of Education, among others. Over the course of our history, we have attracted and prepared over 13,000 new, high-quality teachers and launched more than 40 programs in 20 states.
The New Teacher Project's success lies in our firm belief that our nation's most talented citizens will dedicate themselves to teaching and improving public education if school districts and their schools give them the opportunity and support they need. We develop programs to attract high-achieving individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of under-served children, and we prepare those leaders to be successful in the classroom.
